The player that you fight isn’t a real person behind the screen. Each time you enter a fight, your character is saved as a dummy. Each time you start a fight, you fight against the dummy of that player. This method allows for instantaneous matchmaking, which removes the long searches for an opponent you can see in other PvP web3 games.
